Default Agitator louder than usual
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: wpsr 3100 woww

My washer has been gradually getting louder over the past month and now when you do a load of clothes it has a grease smell coming from the washer. Any ideas would be helpful.

Transmission is shot. The inside of your cabinet will be a mess. If you choose to replace the transmission have a can of engine degreaser handy when you pull the tranny.

Frankly with the cost of cheap washers I'd never replace a transmission-will cost you more than the machine is worth.

John

Actually I meant to say I'd never "pay" to have a transmission replaced, I replace them all the time at my laundry.
