Question Agitates, but doesn't spin right
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: LSQ9610JQ0
Age: 5 - 10 years

Agitates fine, but when enters spin cycle, makes a sound like it is slipping gears and moves about 1 inch a every skip.

Fill the washer with water and watch to make sure the agitator is actually moving.

From what you are describing it sound like the coupler may be destroyed.

The coupler is a piece that joins the motor to the transmission.

If the washer does agitate then it could be the clutch for the basket drive is faulty.

New Clutch

Installed new clutch, but problem remains.

There could be something in the transmission that is broken.
