Question Agitate/spin noise
Brand: Amana
Model Number: NAV5800AWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Is it worth it to remove washer shell in an attempt to quiet squeakes during agitate and spin cycles? Agitate noise doesn't sound like a bearing, it sounds like it cycles with one direction of the tub/agitator. Spin noise is the squeak, squeek, squeek that speeds up with tub speed. It just started making these noises a few weeks ago. No leaks or issues other than noises. Is there anything I can look for or do that may prevent furture damage or failure?
Thanks,
Scott

Not sure what the squeaking in the agitation cycle might be.

The noise in the spin is not a good sign.

It could be the spin bearing that is failing.

To check to see if the tube is leaking take the front panel off and see if you see soap residue on the transmission.

Here is a link to your washer model NAV5800AWW.

Thanks for the parts breakdown, that will be helpfull. What is the starting point for taking the cabinet apart. Once I get one panel off I should be fine.
Thanks

Now THATS what I'm talking about! When I tried to convince Amana to let me have a service manual you would have thought I was asking for the secret ingredient to there magical cookies or something.
Thank you very much!!
