Default Admiral washer won't drain
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: LNC6760B71
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have an Admiral washing mchine model LNC6760B71 that agitates and spins OK but will not drain. When it reaches the drain cycle the machine goes dead with only a slight humming sound. Thie pump on this washer is belt driven off the motor and during the drain cycle the motor is not turning. Does this model have a motor that turns in one direction for agitation and spin and turns the other direction to drain? If so, is my motor burned out or is it the timer or something else?
P.S. Before this happened the machine was making some some squeaking and grinding noises during the wash cycle.
Thanks!
David B

The motor on this washer turn one way to wash and the other way to spin and drain.

So if the washer is spinning and not draining you have a pump problem.

Take the front panel off and watch to see what is happening.

Here is a link to your washer model lnc670b71.

Hi
Thanks for replying. Whats weird is that when the machine goes into drain you get no motor movement at all, just a low hum. I can easily turn the pump pulley by hand so it's not stuck. It could be a bad pump but why won't the motor turn in the drain cycle?

You will have to check for power to the motor in spin. Either the motor is bad or the timer or both. Refer to the schematic for this.
