Smile Admiral capacity plus washer
Brand: Admiral
Model Number: lnc6760B71
Age: More than 10 years

Hi I just bought this washer, it did one load great then the next load wouldn't drain fully. My drain pipe is about 6" above the washer and the guy told me it was only designed to pump up to 36" high so I cut the pipe to about 30" and now it will not fully drain still, it does a lot more water but not fully. It will not start to spin fast as there is too much water in the tank to allow it to. If I pull the hose out and lower it more to about 24" it will fully drain out.
Sometimes it will go fully and other times it will partially drain I think leaving around 5 gallons of water in there.
any ideas?
The guy will come out to look at it but he's very busy so I was wondering if it's something I can do instead of having him come out?
Does it sound like a faulty pump? he says he put a new one on it already?
Dave

Take the front panel off and see if the belt is tight and the pump pulley is turning.

The belt may be slipping.

Yes the belt was extremely loose, I tried to tighten it up a but it would keep sliding in, I think a piece might be missing, some sort of shime that keeps it from slipping in? Know what I am talking about? I tightened the 3/8" nut tighter and it woudl still slip when I put tension on the belt.
I jerry rigged a small piece of wood between the metal edge and the plastic tightening thing in hopes it will prevent it from slipping, but their must be a piece that fits there that is missing?

I found the belt was indeed very loose. I attempted to tighten it and pull back on the screw mount while tightening it and it would continue to slide in with very little tention on it, I jerry rigged a piece of wood to bridge between the screw tensioner and the metal frame so it will only slip so far but there must be a piece missing that keeps it tight there?
let me know
Dave

Look at the parts breakdown and see if the spring for the motor pivot is on your washer.
