Default Wrong parts?
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GD5SHAXKQ00
Age: 5 - 10 years

The compressor starter burned up. I bought what I thought was the direct replacement. But when tried to install the replacement part there are three terminals but the original had only two. Also the double white wire connector was smaller than the new terminal by almost half.

I bought the overload as well and that (red wire) plugs in okay. Worth noting, the replacement starter looked completely different from the original. I checked the part numbers and they are correct. I also verified this with partselect.com who I bought the parts from that these are supposed to be the right part. Does anyone know why I would have an extra terminal? Or should I bite the bullet and have a service person fix it?
