Default Wires caught on fire
Brand: Maytag
Age: 5 - 10 years

Well, last night my fridge caught fire. I am not sure why but have a pretty good idea. The wire harness that comes in from the wall was melted where it ties in to the compressor. The plastic piece on the side of the compressor where the wires hook was all black and melted also. I am thinking that the compressor went out and the wires overloaded and melted away. What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, going back and looking at everything again I am pretty sure the compressor is toast. The side of the compressor is all black and you can see where it sparked. It always seems to happen when the warrant just runs out ya know....
