My refridgerator stopped cooling. I have a side by side and I noticed the center section between the doors was hot. Now the whole thing is not cooling at all. I am trying to decide if it would be more cost efficient to replace the whole thing or if this is an easy fix that wont cost too much to have a repair person to do. Any one ever had this happen to them?

Maybe just a cleaning or condenser fan. Pull fridge out from wall and remove the cardboard cover and see if the fan under there is running. If not check it here. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Test the Condensor Fan - ACME HOW TO.com

See if the compressor is running.
While you're back there dust the condenser coils the fan blows on.

i had the same problem and the fan is running, do you know waht else it might be?

Maybe an ice build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer.

Maybe the cold air isn't being blown through the damper to the fridge from the freezer.
