I recently picked up a used Whirlpool side by side, manufactured 06-04.

Serial number: sr2433606

So, the problem. It won't make ice with the handle down and it seems to run constantly. If I turn the knobs below 1 it'll turn the fridge off.

The water line does work, water will come out of the front dispensor.

Any idea what I might have going on? I also noticed some frost in freezer after a couple of days.

You probably have serious refrigeration problems. Before puchase of a used item ALLWAYS measure freezer temp. should be below zero if cold control turned up all the way. Do this on yours and post results.

Well, it seems to be running better. I have the fridge at 1 and freezer at 3 and it will shut off and start back up like a normal refrigerator.

I will pick up a thermostat and check out the temps. I have a feeling it might be the ice tray itself.

I read in the warranty that there is a 1year full and 2-5 thereafter on parts. Would this include thermostats, valve regulators, and the ice tray?
