Default Whirlpool Fridge not working
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi. THis forum is great, I have fixed several things with advice from here. Now i have a problem I couldnt search out.

My fridge is about 7 years old, side by side. Nothing was cooling the other day, so I cleaned the coils and saw that cool air was blowing out the bottom. I know that it should be warm air, so I knew there was a problem. I took the cover off from the back bottom and saw that the fan was working. When I was down there cleaning the dust and cat hair off, I heard the relay click, but the compressor did not kick on. So I figure its a problem between the two. My question is whats the best way to troubleshoot with a volt meter? How can I determine which component is bad?

Thanks in advance.

So I came home and disconnected the small black box labeled shizuki, which apparently is the capacitor, and it looks normal, and I disconnected and removed the small white box that was connected to the black condenser, the relay. I opened it , and it fell apart, the contents of it were totally dust, and the connectors are burnt black. Part # 4sp1001 or 2212194. So apparently that is what went bad. Question is, where is the best place to get one of these? I found this on google,
What is different between Whirlpool 8201532 and Maytag 61005271? - Appliance Blog Forums

but I am not sure which is the appropriate one to get. I posted a pic, you can sort of see the black where the terminal just fell apart.
