Panel / frame between frig and freezer is very hot to touch. This panel/frame is only exposed when frig or freezer is open.
My refrigerator is working fine as far as I can tell.
It is quite the surpise when you touch it by mistake.
Friends visiting find out the hard way.
Any idea what could cause this problem?

Simple, you either need a condenser motor, which is located in the back in the rear, or something blocking the fan blade from turning. If you need a new condenser fan motor, it will change to the old style motor, and blade. It is real simple to replace, you have to cut the old wire harness off the old one, and rewire it to the new one. The kit comes with instructions.
