Default Where is Defrost Timer Located so I can replace...?
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFH24PR
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hey guys,
My first appliance repair. I bought a new defrost timer and it is arriving tomorrow. I have a GE Profile TFH24PR refrigerator. The back wall on the freezer has started to form a lot of frost (almost 1/2 inch thick). A buddy of mine took the back panel off and said that it needed a new defrost timer. He defrosted it for me and its been running ok since then but I want to replace the part asap.

We looked underneath the fridge in the rear, and front. I couldn't find anything and neither could he. We also couldn't find the defrost timer behind the back panel in the freezer compartment. We did not look behind the ice maker mechanism.

When I bought the part from partselect, the diagram said the part #xxx was in the ice chute and was pointing to a screw so that didn't help at all.

Does anybody know where the defrost timer is on this unit and point me in the right direction as to get to it?!?!!

Thank you so much guys for helping me save money!

I dont know where the other additional numbers are. I just open the fridge and see the sticker on the side by side door saying the model number!

Default Model Number Location

I found my model number on the a sticker on the back of the unit.
The sticker was on the top section and you will have to look carefully for the
full model number which is printed sideways with a gap between the last two letters.

Default Defrost Timer Location

I found mine on the fridge side located behind the top light bulb.
Remove the knob and light shield. Remove 1/4 screw and lift from the bottom tabs. You will find it stuck to part you took off.
