Ice maker was emptied to fill cooler and now doesn't work. I read an earlier post on a TFX27 that someone suggested checking a gear. How do you go about that?
What other general troubleshooting potocol steps are advised? Also I didn't know if I should jump in on someones thread, because I dont want to hijack it. Any pictures or diagrams to help, I would appreciate as well.

The temperature in the freezer must be at least 5 degrees.

If you had the door open for a long period this may have caused the unit to stop working.

Check under the fridge behind the kick plate for test sheets.

Icemaker working but the shute for the ice to travel down to dispense is continually frozen and gets blocke when I de-ice it. I found the the ice building up around the wire inside the icemaker slowed ice produciron. Now I have the blockage problem.

Frost caused by air leaking in. See if the door flap is closing tight each time you dispense ice.

woodchuck thanks for the reply and interest,yes that sounds good. Do they have an easily replaceable gasket? Without taking the whole door apart?
