Default Water won't shut off
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FR526F5A
Age: 5 - 10 years

My son pushed the paddle too hard and broke it, the water was running and would not shut off. I replaced the paddle and put everything back together (not the first time)and each time I plug the wiring together the water starts running. I have checked the switch and there is nothing wrong with it. Everything mechanically seems to be working correctly, except the water won't shut off.

This is the easiest way I know to check the valve without having the proper tools avalible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like your valve is stuck open! Take your valve off the back of the fridge unhook the hose that goes to the dispencer and turn the water on, but watch the water will go everywhere ,if your not certian which one it is unhook them all remembering were they go, turn the water on and see what happens!!!!

Double check and make sure there isint constant power to the valve, before Purchasing a new one, if there is then your problem is elsewhere!!!!!

Default Thanks

I'll give this a try.
First I'll check the power and then I'll take it off and see if I need a towel...
