Default Water spraying around ice maker
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX25
Age: 5 - 10 years

Last nite I found water on the floor near the fridge. After investigating, I saw it was coming from the freezer (side x side). I looked in at the ice maker and it was a mess as well as the frozen foods where water had leaked on to them.
After cleaning up and removing the bin (frozen in place also), I noticed that the water was leaking from the metal parts (the tray ?). Even after putting up the "arm" the water seemed to still be coming in. I turned off the water supply.
I could not find anything leaking but I didn't disasemble the ice maker though. I tried again, after clean up but it was still leaking.
I am not sure if it is the solenoid passing water or if it is something more drastic.
Before I call out the serviceman (or buy a new fridge, like the wife wants), is there any advice or things I can try ?
Please help quick.
TimC

If the water was still coming it to the ice maker after you turn it of there is a problem with the water supply.

The valve on the back of the fridge is shut by water pressure.

If there has been any plumbing repairs done the water line may have a blockage cutting the pressure to the fridge.

If the water pressure at the back of the fridge is good the valve may be sticking.

Here is a link to the part of your fridge model TFX25.

For a detailed breakdown of your fridge you will need your complete model number.

It can be found on a tag in the fridge section with the serial number.

Here is the water valve.
