Unhappy Water Line Connector
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX30PB
Age: 5 - 10 years

I had a leak under my GE Profile Performance side by side refrigerator. I checked the icemake valve assembly and found that a .25 inch water line was cracked and would spray anytime water was being dispensed. There was sufficient extra length of line available to cut away that section and reconnect. In making the repair, a second line snapped and I noticed it had several brittle areas in the tubing, probably because of its close proximity to the heat from the compressor. This line is not .25 inch, but appears to be 5/16 inch. I can not find either this line or the connector for it. It is a larger connector than he other two coming off of the valve assembly. Because the bad water line is routed into the refrigerator, I had intended to splice a new line and connector into the existing line to give me sufficient length to reconnect to the valve assembly, but I can not seem to find where to get either to the correct water line (~ 5/16 inch) or the larger connector. HELP!!!

You can buy plastic water line at Lowes. Just take the water valve out and you will see where the othe valve is under the fridge. Good luck.

Both Lowes and Home Depot sell .25 inch line, but not this 5/16 inch line that happens to be broken. Both the connector and line for seems to have orginally been an assembly, which is why I am also looking for a replacement connector.

Go to a good website like www.partselect.com. There you will see what parts have to be ordered.
