Default Water Leaking in Refrigeration section
Brand: Roper
Model Number: RT18DKXFW01
Age: More than 10 years

Hello All-
The Frige is working great - except we have noticed that it is leaking water in the refrigeration section. It gets accumulated at the bottom (above & under Vegetable tray) and then gets frozen into a layer of ice. Can anyone please help on how to fix this?
Thanks.

It may be water leaking from the defrost drain because it's stopped up. Drain is in the freezer below the evaporator. When it defrost it drains into the drip tray (part 7) and goes in to the drain tube (#8) and drains to the drain pan under the unit. It can get stopped up at the bottom end with dust and mold and cause the water to drain so slow that it freezes the water in the drain making it overflow into freezer and fridge. Clean the ice out to find the drain hole. Here's your diagram and parts list.

You also might want to look at the refrigerator, and see if front is lower then the rear. The front should be higher then the rear. Also check your door gaskets to make sure they are sealing well. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

If you really want to make your life easy. Take everything out of the freezer, and the refrigerator shut it down for 24 hours, with the doors open. Once those 24 hours are up, take out the two screws, that hold in the bottom of the freezer out, and make sure it is dry, and not holding water. Then look in the back and you will see the shinney metal drain pan. What I want you to do is get some dishwashing liquid, and put it on your hands, and rub in on the metal drain pan from one side to the other. What that will do is, make the water that drains into the pan not pool, and go down the drain. Again, I tell you, make sure the front of the refrigerator is higher then the rear.
