Unhappy Water leaking from freezer door - from the outside
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: 25358677890
Age: 5 - 10 years

I think I have two problems...

1) Water is leaking from the freezer door. There is a constant dripping from the corner closest to the hinge. This leak seems to actually be coming from between the door and the seal/gasket.

2) Water has frozen in the bottom of the freezer causing the bottom basket to freeze in place. I broke up the ice today and am watching to see if more water comes. So far there isn't any there and it has been about 2 hours.

Just in case we have turned off the water to the ice maker. We did this more to stop the contant leak from the freezer door.

I think both are symptoms of the same problem.
Your defrost drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer. It will defrost every 8 to 12 hours and should drip at that time.

Default Thank You

We have done what you have suggested and so far so good. It's been 6 hours and no water in the bottom of the freezer. I still have a towel at the bottom of the freezer door - just in case - but it's looking like there are very few if any drops of water coming from it now. Thank you so much!!
