Default Water Leak from Water Tank - Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS22ZRH
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi,

Everytime we dispense water, water leaks from one of the hoses connected to the 'Water tank' inside the fridge. It trickles down the front and out on to the floor.

I looked up the replacement part: 218942701, but noticed it only included the hose. Is that all that's needed? Do I just reuse the water tank?

Please advise. Thank you.

The tank has been replaced by a coil of tubing.

You do not reuse the tank.

You will get connectors to hook the coil up to the lines.

The coil act as the tank.

Here is the replacement PS469559.

Yes, the tubing definitely worked. Sorry, for the late response. I do advise, you want to mount the tubing where it won't freeze. Other than that, we haven't had the leaking problem since.

Can you put the tubing where the old water container was? Did you just cut the two pieces of tubing that were going into the old container and then connect the tubing? Will the coil of tubing just sit behind the drawer in the back with out being attached to the refridgerator? Do I need to have all the tubing in the picture or can I just cut down on the tubing and buy some from Loews?

Yes, you can put the tubing where the old container is. We moved it because the tubing takes up more space than the container. Yes, to you 2nd question. Possibly, to your 3rd question. The tubing is held intact with zip ties. If you're handy enough, you can get away with tubing from Loews--provided they have the same tube connectors shown in the picture. I've never shopped around for the hardware like that, so I don't know. My guess is, they would have something similar.

Thank you so very much for ALL your answers. I can now make an educated decision about what to do. I'm still a little ticked that it quit working in the first place and I have to completely redo this piece in my refridgerator!! Thanks again you have been a great HELP!!

Default How?

So I find myself in the same mess. We've been seeing small amounts of water leaking onto the floor but always just wiped it up and moved on. Last night I finally took the time to pull all the shelves and bins out and indeed, there is a leak in the water dispenser coil.

This post has helped tremendously to find the solution to the problem. Where did you end up ordering the part from? How difficult was it to install? What exactly did it involve? Does your fridge have a filter as well? Any additional info would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!
