Default Water leak in refrigerator
Brand: Electrolux
Model Number: FRT18LN5BQ6
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a water leak on the top shelf of the refrigerator section. It seems to appear only when the ice maker has been turned off and dries up after several days of running the ice maker . It does not leak enough to drain out of the cabinet, just enough to accumulate on the top shelf. Can't see any running water, and none accumulates on the floor underneath the refrigerator.

Your defrost drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the back of the freezer behind the back panel..
