Default Water issues
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 253.5569940A
Age: 1 - 4 years

Issues started when water started running out of the ice maker. Following this situation, when i was filling a glass of water from the dispenser, we had a short on the power board. After replacing the Water relay on the power board, we now have an issue where the water dispenser runs water every time the ice maker demands water. Also, the ice maker is getting over filled with water causing a monster block of Ice instead of cubes.

HELP

I feel confident that the power board is OK. Do i need a new water valve or could the door control be the issue.. The 3 parts together are more than a new fridge.

Thanks

The water valve is shut off by water pressure.

If the water line going to the fridge has a saddle valve in it this could be your problem.

There has to be at least 20 psi to shut the water valve.

Check the pressure first and if it is good then it could be the water valve on the fridge.
