Default Water and Ice Maker not working
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MFD2560HES
Age: 1 - 4 years

I've noticed that the water dispenser output INSIDE the fridge - (brillliant idea Maytag) has been slowing over the past year. It has now stopped and so has ice production. I suspect the valve at the water line input (which isn't kinked). I removed the filter and still have no water flow from the water filter open ports when the water switch is depressed. The ice maker sense arm is in the down position. Anything else that I'm overlooking?

You maybe able to run it without the filter on that model, then you would not have water leak out when the filter is not in place.

What is your freezer temp?
It should be 0-5 deg. F any warmer the ice maker will not run at all yet things will still freeze.

Also if you have a kinked line, fix it and check to make sure that the water inlet tube that goes into the ice maker did not freeze shut from low water pressure.

I only took the filter off to check to see if it was the cause of the problem (plugged). Without it installed, I believe I should get water pouring out, but that didn't happen so I'm suspecting the valve in the back of the fridge is jammed and is the culprit. Again, the water line is not kinked.
