Default Water & Ice Dispenser won't work
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSH25JFRF
Age: 1 - 4 years

There is a constant clicking noise comming from the back of the refrig. and when the ice/water dispenser are activated, the light will pulse with the clicking noise. Any suggestions?

Default same model/same problem with clicking/no ice

Jerry, I would be interested to know if you found out anything about source of problem. Our icemaker stopped working today and started clicking. I unplugged for now and my husband said a GE repairman may come out in am. But it's not even 2 years old!:

The Mother Board was replaced and now everything works fine. Ours was only 1 1/2 years old.

Unhappy

Jerry,

I have the exact same problem with my less than 2 years old refrigerator. Did the manufacturer cover the cost or did you have to pay for it?

Thanks!

My unit was out of warrenty and I had to cover the cost. Mother board and service call was $280. This is the last GE appliance I will ever purchase.

Unhappy Crap!

Mine is doing the same thing and it is 2 years and 2 weeks old. I can't stand the thought of replacing a motherboard after such a short time.

Stuart: Looks like this was my only solution. The repairman can't fix any component on the board.

Smile Yea, GE!!

I called GE. I described the problem to the repairman. He said, "I know exactly what the problem is and we will fix it at no charge." They came to my house same day and replaced the motherboard.

It stunk having to deal with the issue at all, but my hat's off to GE.

My dispenser makes a loud buzz when I try for water or ice, in addition it also makes loud click which turned out to be the little round door that lets out the ice. I'm assuming these loud noises aren't right. Might I have to replace something? My frig is a "hand-me-down", so I'm sure no warrenty ect. Help! SK
