Default Water frozen on freezer floor
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: profile tf430pr
Age: More than 10 years

My GE Profile side by side is leaking water inside the freezer on to the bottom of the inside of the freezer floor.I unplugged it and totally defrosted the refrigerator and freezer but the frozen water soon reappaered. I did notice a frozen stalagtite of water hanging from the ice machine inside the freezer to the inside of the bucket that holds the cubes? Could you advise what action I should take.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Keep an eye on the ice maker trying to see if the ice mold is overflowing when it fills or if the water is dripping from the fill tube to the bin.
