Unhappy Water in fridge top shelf
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a kenmore / coldspot model 106 [1997] freezer on top of fridge . Had a lot of water and some ice on first shelf of fridge.Took all food out and unplugged fridge for 6 hrs to deice .thaw out . Now I have water again on first shelf .What now??

Your drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. I may can show a diagram of location if you post your model number. It's in freezer on the back or side.

hannabe: That seems to be an incorrect or incomplete model number.

Model # is: 106.74233400. It's a Kenmore Coldspot.

I'd love to see that diagram.

This may be helpful
frig leaking, Fridges, refrigerators, not cold enough, frost free problems and how to test, noisy fan motors, clicking on and off compressors, door gaskets
