Unhappy Water dripping into refrigerator from freezer
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TBX16SPGR-AD
Age: More than 10 years

I have water dripping into the refrigerator from the freezer. The water is dripping from the back of the defrost control panel. Since the freezer is above the refrigerator I think that the water is dripping from the freezer above.
I think that the defrost control or the thermostat control is not working correctly and may need to be replaced. The ice maker works OK and there is no water dripping anywhere inside the freezer only inside the refrigerator.
Since the unit does not have a drain port inside the refrigerator I do not know how water would exit the inside of the refrigerator. I think that the freeze/defrost cycle keeps the water from causing a water leak.

Do I need to call a repair person? or do I need to buy a new unit?

Thanks for any and all help!

What you have is a plugged drain.

The defrost water is suppose to drain to a pan in the back of the fridge.

The heat from the compressor evaporates the water.

Check the hose at the back of the fridge.

Here is a link to your fridge model TBX16SPGR-AD.

Thanks for all your info, however, the link to the fridge is not very helpful I need more help with the plugged drain.
I would realy appreciate any additional hints as to how to locate and clear the plugged drain.
Thanks again.

Take the panel at the back of the freezer off.

There is a drain trough where the water drips.

Check it for blockage.

There may be a cup at the back to the fridge section inside that you will have to remove and clean.
