I have water dripping from the freezer into the refrigerator. There is an opening with some type of port or vent on the upper surface of the refrigerator compartment, and water is dripping from this port. The freezer is above the refrigerator. I have placed a cup to catch the drippings and have to empty it every other day.

I suspect some type of drain tube may be blocked, but have no knowledge of what to check, or how. The drain pan under the bottom of the fridge, is dry. I'm kind of guessing that the water that should be dripping down there is not making there.

The unit is a Costco/Kirkland brand, and I think it is made by Whirlpool, but I'm not certain of this. I don't have model number with me, but can follow up with it tomorrow.

Do I need to call a repair person, or is this a owner fixable problem? or do I need to buy a new unit?

It does sound like the drain cup is plugged.

There should be a little cup at the back of the fridge in the fresh food section.

It will be in the middle close to the top.

There will be a hose attached to it that runs down the back of the fridge to the drip pan.

do I get to the cup by removing the plastic cover screwed/bolted to the interior roof of the main refrigerator section? This is not something that I access from the back of the refrigerator? right? I'm to access this CUP from the interior of the main food section.

Yes the drip cup should be located at the back of the fridge section.

I remove two screw holding the contols and light bulbs, abd it pivoted down. I was able to remove that panel, and was then able to remove another panel closer to the rear of the food compartment. But did not see a tube or cup. There were a couple of openings, with styrofoam around the openings. I was not able to see into the openings, but this is where the leak is coming from. Is the tube suppoesd to be visible from inside the refrigerator? or Any I really supposed to be looking for this in the back/exterior of the refrigerator?
