Hi,

I have a KitchenAid Stainless Steel Fridge Freezer with ice and water dispenser. The water dispenser is working fine but the ice maker has ceased to function. I have a Style 2 Ice maker with an on/off switch. The light is blinking red and in the on position. Can you suggest the order in which I should replace parts to rectify this situation.

Is the ice bin full?

If the ice bin is empty check the sensing eye on the emitter and receiver for frost or dirt.

If cleaning does not fix your problem it is likely the emitter and reserver that will have to be replaced.

There may be papers under the fridge that will tell you how to test the unit.

Remove the kick plate that goes across the front of the fridge at the bottom and look for an envelope with the papers in it.

I have a similar Fridge, Kitchenaid Model#KSRB25FKSS01 Same problem, water but no ice. I replaced the emitter and receiver and still no Ice. What did you do next and what should I do! Thanks Andy

I have the same problem with a Whirlpool Gold Model #gd5phaxlb00, It doesen't appear that this site has a clue on how to repair this problem or the troubleshooting seems like if there is so many going bad there would be a common item causing this or is this model alemon? Can anyone help?

Should the emitter's light be blinking when you depress the sensor door flush (simulating the door is shut) if the emitter is working properly?
