Default Water dispenser supply line broke
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX24SLR
Age: More than 10 years

The 5/16" water dispenser line broke just where it goes into the bottom of the freezer door. I guess I need to remove the inside of the door to put in some new line. I see that there are 20 or more screws on the inside of the door behind the rubber insulation strip. I guess I can just remove the screws and take the inside of the door off and thereby get to the water line to replace it or put in a new piece with a union. Does anyone know that the inside of the door comes off this easily and I can then fix the broken line?

Here is a link to your fridge model TFX24SLR.

The best way to do this is to take the door off and lay it on a flat surface.

You will have to you will have to remove the liner.

When you reassemble the door make sure you put the screw in the corners first and then the rest of the screws.

Make sure that you don't over tighten the screw so the door shut properly.
