Default Water Dispenser Probs
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.53294202
Age: 1 - 4 years

After pouring water into a glass I noticed a reddish filmy substance floating in my water. I try to change the water filter between 2 and 3 months religiously, but I think I may have to do it more often. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else had run into this prob before. I'm thinking of removing and replacing the hoses in the fridge or at least the one that is connected to the water dispenser. From what I have seen, at the water valve, hoses split to the ice maker and to the water dispenser. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on a well and have an iron problem you may have to replace the filter more often.

It is likely the coil of tubing in the fridge section that is be hind the crisper's that you will want to replace.

Here is a list of parts to your fridge model 106.53294202.

Default How many hoses?

I'm not on a well but on a public water system. I thought that the coiled hose would be the prob but am wondering if only one hose is used from the valve all the way to the dispenser. Thanks for the help.

The hose is in sections but the only piece that you can replace in most fridge is the coil in behind the crisper's.

This is the only place that the water lies.

I am not sure where the red film would be coming from but it could be in the house water lines.
