My Hotpoint SxS water dispenser clicks, the courtesy light comes on, but no water- the icemaker water feed works intermittently; it will work for several weeks at a time, then take a vacation for a week or more, then start up again for no apparent reason...??? I have replaced the filter in the past due to restricted water flow, but when the icemaker comes back to work, the "cubes" are full-sized. During all the icemaker issues the water dispenser has not provided a drop...

Have you made sure that both sides of the inlet valve are working. There could be sediment moving around and stopping up the strainer before the valve. Swap the lines if they're the same size and see how it works. One side can go bad.
