took a stab at it and replaced the double solenoid valve today. Still NO water at the water dispenser, but water IS getting to the icemaker. Same symptoms as before I replaced the solenoid. Im assuming now that the dispenser micro-switch is bad? I already checked the water line coming from the solenoid, (by disconnecting the line where it enters the bottom of the freezer door) and no water is getting to that point. I can rule out a frozen water line in the freezer door with that test. If the micro switch is bad in the door, how do i get at it? The door had a trim panel around the dispenser that I am assuming pops right off. But I dont want to force it and break anything. Any help please?

firgured it out! Carefully removed the dispenser cover and when I did a small plastic rod fell out. If I hadn't read another post here , a few minutes before I did this, i probably wouldnt have known what it was. It was a plastic support post for the micro switch that controls the water dispenser. The micro switches have three thin plastic rods that are molded into the bracket that holds them. One of them broke off and left the switch all loose and wobbly. I held the switch steady and tried the water dispenser lever and guess what? I got water! Went online again and ordered the $8 bracket which will fix my problem. Lucky me that I did a search here and read about the same problem that someone else had with the same thing just minutes before I took the cover plate off.
