Default Water dispense frozen?
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: hss25gfpa
Age: 1 - 4 years

Cannot obtain water thru door dispenser. disconnecting coupling below freezer door-water flows when paddle pushed. Cannot blow thru line up to door spigot.
Is there a heater to prevent spigot from freezing? If not line somehow is plugged in door. Can it be replaced? How? Thanks for any input. Paul

Hi,

There is no heater in the door.
I know on the whirlpool and GE models with this problem the doors had to be replaced.

Thanks for the info. The door water line is listed as a seperate part. I wonder what could have plugged it as the frig has a filter. Also is it dificult to replace? Thanks Paul

If the water line is listed as seperate part then it should be easy to replace.

Just pull the old one out and feed the new one back in the hole.

The line is burried under several pieces of plastic trim that must be removed before it can be installed. How are the trim pieces removed without breaking them. Check freezer door drawing for Hotpoint or GE HSS25GFPAWW ....Thanks Paul

I have the same question. I think if we can get to the water line we can reinsulate it.... Somewhere else, on this forum I found a solution, which was to stick about 12" of weed eater line up into the spicket, leaving about an inch exposed... When it freezes just grab it with pliers , pull it out and it will pull the ice chunk out... This works great but there has to be a better solution.
