Default Water coming from the buttom of the freezer
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: YET17TKXBW01
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have water coming from the buttom of the freezer(inside the refrigerator), I opened the freezer I noticed the drain pipe was pluged with ice.
It seems to the defrost circuit is not working propoerly. what caused the ice to build up inside the drain pipe? Other than that every thing is working.
Thanks for any help
Jalal

You will need to remove back cover of freezer and force boiling water in the area of the drain. I use a turkey baster for this. Be patient it will eventually clear itself with enough water. May need a used coathange wire to help clear the drain.

Yes I did unpluged the pipe one month ago, the water was running through the pipe without any problem, but after one month it was pluged again.
I don't understand why.

A few things may cause this. Your styrofoam insulation around drain may now be soaked in water and cause the drain to freeze up. You can dry this out for a few days, little impractical.
Your freezer may be running too cold,. just turn it down till it's around 10 degrees.
If you have a metal defrost heater you can wrap a heavy gauge copper or aluminum wire around it and shove the other end down the drain. This works, have done it!!
