Default Water clog in frig door
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: gsh22kgpc
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi doesn't seem any easy way to access the water line in the freezer door. I'm
sure a water clog is at the spot just before it comes out the spout [probably where it makes a hard 90 degree] I have disconnected the coupling at the bottom of the frig. it will pump water to there. I run somewhat stiff piece of wire from there to the spout and was able to pass through something some where midway.Ran the wire thru several times(both ways, pulling completly thur). Thought I had it fixed. worked ok (somewhat slow. no worst then normal.has allways been slow filling. My first water frig thought that was normal). Aday later it stops working again. Get my trusty wire out again. But that rough spot to pass thru has moved to that area just before it comes out the spout(4-5 inches in) And I can not pass the wire thru any more. Probably because of the hard 90 degree the line is making to get out the spout. How do I get to That area ? Have pulled up parts schematics on internet and they don't even show the line running up the door. Thanks for any help you can give me.Jim

your water line could be frozen in the door. try a hair dryer blowing where the water line is at the dispenser for a few minutes. Raising the temp of freezer slightly might prevent it from happening again.

Default How to fix water dispenser in a side-by-side

Hi
I have a GE side by side w/ice and water dispenser. And water stopped dispensing. The repairman told me over the phone (nice guy!) to drape a heavy blanket over the freezer part (to keep cold air in) and open the freezer door all the way and leave it open.

The water dispensing line had frozen and the room temp. air will unfreeze it. It took nearly two hours of the door being opened. But no repair charge and no new parts needed!!

Good luck!

Never thought it even got close the cold.I've had the frig a couple years now. Never a problem. always ran slow but ran. Only thing I've done different is take the filter out (inside). Keep one inline in basement. Was running Two(inside & basement) Woodchuck you said in post Raise tempof freezer???? thanks Jim

No idea. I plan to repeat my low tech treatment as necessary. Good luck.

If your temp is low enough, maybe 2 to 5 degrees will make the difference in keeping the water from freezing.
