Unhappy Water in bottom of Kenmore fridge
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 10670972990
Age: 5 - 10 years

I'm having the same problem as many others; a LOT of water has been accumulating in the bottom of the refrigerator under the crisper bins. The pan underneath the refrigerator is bone dry. There is no hole in the bottom of the refrigerator for the water to drain into the pan.

I have scheduled a $65 Sears repair visit for Friday. What can I do between now and then to find and fix the problem myself? The "refrigeration specialist" at Sears' phone service was unable to imagine what this problem could be except for a failed defrost timer. From what I've read here, that seems unlikely. The owner's manual obviously contains nothing about this.

Help!

The hole in the refrigerator is going to be beneath where ever your evaporator is. Its frozen. Two options that you can do fairly easily. Locate your evaporator and remove the cover. Unplug the drain beneath the evaporator.

Or unplug your unit for a couple of hours and let it warm up. That will melt the ice clog at the bottom of the evap.
