Unhappy Water on bottom of Freezer and leak on floor
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MSD2554ARA
Age: 5 - 10 years

This side by side has water on the botom of the freezer that ices up. eventually this runs out to the floor. I have turned off all water to the freeze and the fridge in general, so it is not coming from the icemaker or water dispenser.

This has been goin on for a while. I cleaned everything out of the freezer and turned it off for a couple of days once. This cleared up the problem for a couple of days but soon came back. The coils did have ice on them.

What would be causing this problem?

You have a clogged drain in the freezer.
Pull off the back freezer panel and start melting the ice below the freezer coils.
I use a turkey baster and boiling water. Be patient eventually the drain will become unfrozen. Might want to stick a wire down the drain to force it open.

Don't stick anything down the drain - you can damage the drain tube!
