Default Water accumulates between drawers
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TBX21DASMRWH
Age: More than 10 years

We have an older GE, freezer on top. Water accumulates in the bottom of the refrigerator. Could it be defrost water? If so how is this water disposed of when all is well?

Hi,

Yes, it is just the water from the defrost cycle.
Check the defrost drain tube to make sure it's clear.
It maybe frozen up.

The water drains into the trough (part 622 ) in this diagram and drains into the drain tube (part 226 ). GE TBX21DASMRWH Parts List

It's probably stopped up at the bottom where it drains into a drip pan under the whole unit. Unstop it by blowing air through the drain and pour a solution of bleach and water through it to kill the mold at the bottom which stops it up.

Hi. I am new to this. Can someone please post detailed instructions for getting to the tube and clearing it. I don't know if it makes a difference, but my model is tbx25pabrrww. Thanks a lot.
