Default Warm fridge/freezer fine
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.55616400
Age: 1 - 4 years

I removed the back from the freezer and boy was it frozen up. I went through the component tests:

FC Thermistor said "1" which I think is pass as looks like 02 is fail
RC Thermistor "1"
Evaporator fan motor worked
Compressor and condensor fan worked
Air baffle motor worked
Defrost heater came on

The only thing I'm not sure of is the thermistor as on the sheet it looks like it could be a "0" for pass instead of "1". In any event it did not fail "2"
I'm letting it completely thaw out now. Anyone have any further advice on where to go from here?

Thanks

dfaith5, I would check the defrost thermostat. The defrost thermostat needs to be cold to accuratly check it. If you check for continuity, you will get a reading if it is good, if not replace it. Check your defrost heater, you should get a reading there, if not replace it. I would suspect it be the defrost thermostat, or the board, that controls the defrost cycle. If you need me you can reach me at my web site at ApplianceEducator.com Tom
