Default Warm fridge and Freezer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.8609912
Age: More than 10 years

Moved the fridge to a new house 3 weeks ago. It worked fine for two weeks, now the freezer is about 40* and the fridge 45*. I have checked the heater and it has some resistance on the higher ohm scale of my meter. I have removed the bi-metal thermostat and frozen it and then held it in my hand to warm it up and it clicks and seems to work according to my meter. I have the tech sheet that came with the unit and nowhere does it show a defrost timer. Is this correct? I am out of answers. Should I replace both the heater and bi-metal thermostat?

Some units (like my GE) have the defrost timer built into the main control/circuit board. If it's a bad timer you have to replace the whole board.

Check your heater resistance again, shoud be around 35 ohms!!
If ok you will need to change the adaptive control board.
