Default UP Right Freezer
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: TFU16F7EW0
Age: More than 10 years

I need to replace my temperature control unit, my question is ,will I have to break the refrigerant system to do so? or is the temperature control unit a mechanically attached sensor?

It has a sensor which clamps on. You won't have to open the sealed system. Here is a diagram and parts list for your model number. Part 21. Frigidaire TFU16F7EW0 Parts List
