Default Undercabinet Icemaker low water
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUIS185JBL2
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have an undercabinet Kitchenaid Icemaker that stopped making ice and had a grinding sound in the pump. I cleaned the entire unit, replaced the pump and the control board. I also cleaned the filter screen in the inflow of the water valve. The water will fill the water pan initially, but after running awhile it will not keep the water pan full of water during an ice making cycle and the pump will run partially dry. I cannot find a leak or crack in the water pan. Is there a way to increase the time that the water valve stays open to increase the water level in the water pan? Should I look for another problem? Thanks.

The amount of time the water valve stays open is done by the control board.

Check the water flow before the valve. If a saddle type valve was used in the water line this could be causing your problem.

Thanks for the reply. I just replaced the control board with a new one and the water comes from a brass "T" in the water supply line to an adjacent refrigerator. It was working well in the past with this same set-up. Is it possible that there is another issue to cause low ice production that I am missing? I replaced the thermistor sensor on the evaporator coil below the ice plate at this same time as well.
Thanks.
