Default Ugh...I accidentally threw it away!!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS20IEPD
Age: 1 - 4 years

I'm replacing the "Water Valve Assembly" that controls water flow to the water dispenser and ice maker for the second time in two years...this time however, I accidentally threw away the little metal adaptor that sits between the copper feed tube from the water source and the actual inlet fitting on the valve assembly. Can someone tell me if this metal adaptor (which had a little mesh screen in it) was part of the refrigerator or part of the tubing kit? I've been scouring the internet looking for a diagram that includes it but can't find one, so I'm thinking it may be available in my local hardware store? Help!

Thanks!

Are you talking about a garden hose to 3/8 adapter. If so, you will have to buy that
from an appliance supply place, just describe what it is.

Nope, not a garden hose to 3/8 adapter. This metal adapter connected this valve fitting:

to the copper tube that is my water supply line. it had a mesh screen in it like a little debris trap.

Thanks!

Just cut the copper tubing to the water valve, and install the right female fitting with slip on tapered washer. You can order a 1/4 inch compression nut (65201) and compression sleeve (65221) at Mc combs supply or go to Lowes, they will have a copression union 1/4 inch. Use one end of it.

Thanks. For some reason, I was under the impression that this piece I threw away was a step-up adapter from a smaller tube fitting to a larger valve fitting, but it was simply an inline debris screen. I checked and am able to attach the tube directly onto the valve assembly. Everything is all put back together now.

Thanks again.
