Thanks for the advice. I called his boss who tried the run around and I proved to him I know something about refrigeration. I used to do A/C on cars, the principal of refrigeration is the same there just different places for the components and a lot more possiblility for leaks because of engine compartment temps and such. As I said he suggested new coilset because of the higher price he'll get. I agree with the dryer accumulator but as I said the thing is 20 years old and what if something else busts while I am away. BTW turned the tstat to 5.5 and got 36 to 37 in the fridge and 0-3 in the freezer so I think the t stat is starting to go too - or could it be that the house is 10- 15 degrees warmer inside and that is the problem?

Anyway I like the new Liebherr cs1650 it's the only one that will go in the same size spot 30w 24 d 81.5 high and got such a great price (half of what the cheapest subzero is). 3 year bumper to bumper warranty 5 year compressor and 12 year sealed system. Just regret that I can't find a refurbisher in NYC who would take it off my hands for a couple hundred so he could sell for a couple thousand. As said earlier it really is a spotless unit.
