The water dipensing unit stopped working on my fridge. Right before it stopped it made an odd sound, then just stopped working. The ice was working while there was ice in it, but not the water. Any idea what part I need to replace. Any help is appreciated.

A few questions, Daisy.

1. Where did the sound come from? Was it from the door or from the rear of the fridge?

2. Is the fridge still making ice?

I have a GE side by side w/ice and water dispenser. And water stopped dispensing. The repairman told me over the phone (nice guy!) to drape a heavy blanket over the freezer part (to keep cold air in) and open the freezer door all the way and leave it open.

The water dispensing line had frozen and the room temp. air will unfreeze it. It took nearly two hours of the door being opened. But no repair charge and no new parts needed!!
