Refrigerator chills to set temperature, then shuts off. Does not restart as refrigerator warms. Must be disconnected from power outlet and plugged in again to run. Sometimes tapping on the control box will initiate a restart. Is this the thermostat control?

Yes that would be the thermostat that would have to be replaced.

Here is a link to your fridge model ed25dqxvn03.
