Question Thermostat installation
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.57567792
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a question regarding thermostat installation. I started the process, however, as I tryed to remove the thermocouple wire from its location, it appears to be attached at the very end. I didn't know if it was just snagged on something in the rear of the refrigerator, or if it is secured in some fashion. I did not attempt to pull the frig from the wall as yet. I am hopeful it is just stuck. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks in advance.

There is usually a retainer to hold the capillary tube in place.

Check around the air diffuser.

It may be a piece of tape.

Here is a link to the part of your fridge model 106.57567792.

Default Thermostat Removal

Hi Shelia,
Thank you for your feedback. As far as I can tell, there is no access to the rear of that cavity. However, if you feel it may just be tape, I might just be brave and give it a tug... Is retaping necessary and if so, how would I do it? Can I reach that area from the rear of the refrigerator, such as an access panel?

Regards,
Motorhead
