Default Sub-Zero 801RFD Freezer Ok Fridge Not
Brand: Other
Model Number: 801RFD
Age: More than 10 years

I recently purchased a new house and there is a sub-zero 801RFD side-by-side freezer/fridge bar sized in the basement bar. The freezer works perfectly (except for a water drip out of the ice maker) It is very cold on setting 3 and keeps and make ice. The fridge however is on the coldest setting 7 and my beer is cool but not cold - NOW YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS TO FIX!! If anyone can lead any help on how to troubleshoot this I would appreciate it. Thanks

Kevin

Default

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's open.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat
