 Standard problem - Freezer not freezing Brand: Maytag Model Number: Dual Cool Age: 1 - 4 years
I've read the other posts about other models so I have a general idea of what the problem might be, but thought I would check anyway.
A few days ago I noticed whenever I opened the freezer door, water would drip onto the kitchen floor.
When I opened the freezer last night, I noticed that all the ice in the ice tray was stuck together. I started to inspect things further and found that frozen vegetables and fruit were no longer frozen really and ice cream was very soft. I put a thermometer in the freezer overnight and the temperature reads just above 30 degrees.
Items in the refrigerator are not nearly as cold as they usually are.
Just bought this house a few months ago and the refrigerator came with it. It's a MayTag "Dual Cool" with the freezer on top.
We do have a home warranty on it, but would like to avoid the $55 service call if possible.
