Default Stand up freezer not getting cold
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FFU11FK2AW3
Age: 5 - 10 years

My father-in-laws freezer isn't getting cold, or freezing anything. He hasn't used it for awhile, it has just sat in the house with the door slightly open. He went to use it and it wouldn't get cold. The fan is running and blowing air, but I don't hear anything else running.

Take the paper board cover off the back. Check to see if the condenser fan at the back bottom of fridge is running.
Is the compressor motor near that fan running.
Are the coils warm ,cold or hot.

I checked everything but the compressor fan, and the compressor is humming (like it is running) but gets fairly warm after awhile. The coils and everything aren't warm but maybe cool.

The compressor will run a little warm. If there's enough freon and compressor is running the coils will be warm.
